Invitation to Conference: ‘Making the Most of Multilingual Britain’
Making the Most of Multilingual Britain
By some calculations, over 300 different languages are spoken in the UK. The country’s multilingualism was described by Lord Dearing as a ‘national asset’.
This one-day event will bring together leading academics, educationalists and writers to discuss how the UK’s latent multilingualism and literary talent can be used to help break down barriers to the perceived difficulty of language learning, and improve the uptake and delivery of language education so that the benefits of bilingualism can be shared more widely.
