IMPORTANT Information: Asset Languages
The OCR reviews on its language provision following the end of government funding for Asset Languages and the changes in league table criteria have meant Asset qualifications no longer count towards school performance points.
Accreditation for Asset Language qualifications runs out at the end of December 2013.
It has been confirmed that OCR will redevelop Asset Language qualifications for first teaching from September 2013 in five languages ONLY; French, German, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin, at Breakthrough (Entry Level), Preliminary (Level 1) and Intermediate (Level 2).
AND will NOT be redeveloping other Asset qualifications currently in the range*. (*Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Cornish, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Irish, Japanese, Panjabi, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Swedish, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu, Welsh and Yoruba.
The last assessment window for candidates using these language qualifications is November 2013, which will be a re-sit opportunity for 2012 – 13 candidates only.For more information on the background of this change, please go to OCR .
